For the past twenty-one years, Idaho Parents Unlimited, a grassroots, Idaho-based non-profit organization, founded by local parents, has been the mechanism for much of the development arising in Idaho’s services for children and youth of special health care needs. Continuing efforts, Idaho still has a long way to go to ensure that families caring for children and youth with special health needs obtain information, training, and supports.
The Idaho Family To Family Health Information Center, funded by a Real Choice Systems Change Grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will ultimately seal this significant gap in Idaho’s service system for families of children and youth with special needs.
The Idaho Family To Family Health Information Center mission exists to improve the health and well-being of Idaho’s children and youth with special health needs. We value informed family centered care and honor the strengths, cultures, traditions, and expertise in the family professional partnership.
Priorities of the Family To Family Information Center are as followed~
Idaho’s Family To Family Information Center is here to provide Idaho families with a sense of hope in the world of ever-changing health systems. We are here to educate and inform individuals. This awareness will promote growth, advocacy, unity, and build a partnership between families and health professionals. Our success relies not only in our ability to navigate, research, and develop community supports, but the success of this project also relies on the ability of those who are willing to leap forth and support others in the same circumstances. Success is the sum of tiny efforts, recurring day in and day out.
