Intro To IEP's

This workshop will be presented by Idaho Parents Unlimited, and the Idaho Federation of Families

Introduction to IEP is a workshop in which we will focus on important skills that concentrate on (parent) difficulties most significant in the children's mental health arena. When First Dealing with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), parent often find themselves lost in a whirlwind of meetings, regulations, and emotions involved when tring to complete and follow their child's IEP.

This worlshop will underline initial information needed for successful planning and will begin with specific stratagies to help each parent be an essential part of their child's IEP team. By learning to anticipate possible problems parents will help in both preventing and resolving confilcts during IEP team meetings.

At the conclusion of this workship, particpants should have the resources to begin developing individual action plans 'to ensure carry-over of new skills and insights to help makre a real difference in their own IEP teams.' All parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions, network with other parents, and find out other information about the Federation, IPUL and Resources we both provide.
